Fall Trends 2015: Women

Hello everybody!
Since fall has officially arrived in Belgium, I thought I'd do a post about the trends. I only chose a few trends, namely the ones I thought would be the easiest to buy and wear this season. In my opinion, trends shouldn't be the only items in your closet. It is best to develop your own personal style, and incorporate some of the trends in it. Cause let's be honest, not everyone likes every trend, which is a good thing. If everyone liked all the same things, we'd all look the same, and that's something nobody wants.
So, I hope you enjoy this, and have fun with finding something that really fits you and that makes you feel happy :)

I have always loved brooches, it is an easy way to update a plain shirt and to give it a little extra.

Next to brooches, there are a couple more trends in the jewelry department. Because jewelry isn't the most expensive thing out there (well, you know, sometimes), I think it's easy to use jewelry to incorporate some trends in your style. So, try buying a necklace with some fringe, earcuffs, pendants or a single earring.

I have been in love with hats for quite some time now. It all started when I noticed my granddad's in my room. He wore it to his wedding. Of course, I had to try it on, and I immediately loved it! Since then, I bought two more (and might buy some more in the future). So, I'd say, definitely buy a hat. Start with something very classy, maybe black, just to get used to it and to find out if it fits your style.

I was first a bit hesitant about this. But then I just went ahead and bought one, and I must say, I like it. It is just a matter of finding a pair that suits you, a print you love.

Black booties, a trend that will never go away (I hope). It is a basic in my eyes, you can pair it with everything, it's both casual enough for shopping, yet chic enough to go to a meeting, with the right pair of course.

Loafers are great, they are so feminine, yet you don't have to walk in heels all day. I must admit, I don't have a pair yet because I am quite dificult in buying shoes. Shoes should be comfortable, beautiful and most importantly, they have to go with a lot of things in your closet.

As I just said, I'm dificult in choosing shoes. This said, I have the hardest time finding the perfect pair of long boots. I remember I had one pair ages ago, but since then I just haven't found a nice pair.

This is another trend I really love (I actually love them all), because they are really flattering. I started out with one black pair, and now I just want one in every colour. They are so easy to throw one, just take a blouse or a shirt, and you are ready to go.

A plaid shirt is the most comfortable thing ever, I think I have about 10 in my closet in all sorts of colours. So I'd say, get a few, you will never regret it, well I hope.

I have a love and hate relationship with skirts, I love wearing them, I just don't extremely like shopping for them. I tend to be very critical when it comes down to buying one. That's why I basically take about a dozen with me in the fitting room, so that I might like at least one.

I hope you like these trends and I hope you will find a way to try them out, but most of all have fun with it!
Thanks for reading!

A World Of Colours

Hello everybody!
Today I’m going to talk to you about colours. Sometimes colours can be a little overwhelming, but today I’m going to try and make it easier for you.
As you know there are three primary, three secondary and a whole bunch of tertiary colours. On the wheel of Johannes Itten, the primary ones are in the middle, surrounded by the secondary colours.

Because colours can be overwhelming, it is sometimes difficult to choose what colours to combine with each other. Luckily, there are a few easy ways to get the hang of it. Based on the colour wheel, I will show you a few easy ways on how to pair colours with each other. There are three sorts of colour schemes I am going to talk to you about. Let’s start with the complementary colours, these are the ones on the opposite side of each other, so for example: yellow and purple, orange and blue, red and green.

Next up are the analogous colours. These are groups of three colours that are next to each other on the colour wheel.

And finally, there are the triadic colours. These are three colours that are equally spaced around the colour wheel.

All of these colour schemes are easily to incorporate into your outfit choices. You can only use the colours of a colour scheme, but you can also pair them with a neutral colour. Here are a few outfit examples:

Khaki Structured Tote Bag       Burgundy Sheer Dip Hem Shirt  Black Button High Waisted Jeans

Blue Vanilla Purple Wrap Top  Mid Pink Ribbed Mini Skirt Khaki Wool Oversized Fedora

Camel Double Breasted Coat       Red Scallop Hem Double Layered Dress

I hope this post gave you some inspiration to try new things or to try new combinations!
Talk to you soon!

Asymmetrical Shirt

Hello everybody!
Hope you had a great week so far :)
The weather in Belgium has been unpredictable, the one day it's hot and sunny, the next day it's cloudy and cold. It's the perfect excuse for some layering though.
I'm wearing an asymmetrical shirt from H&M, layered with a white cardigan from H&M and I also had my black motor jacket with me, but well, I decided to take it off so that I could show you the combination properly.

I saw this body necklace hanging in the 'I am' store, and I thought I'd try it out. I find it works best on a simple top in one colour, because then the emphasis can go to the necklace.

Also wearing one of my favourite clothing items at the moment, my white lace cardigan. I always kind of assumed that longer cardigans wouldn't look good on me, since I'm not that tall. But this piece proved me wrong.

Since there are already a lot of details in my outfit, I decided to go for simple bottoms, just a plain grey skirt.

The day of the shoot, it was really really cold.

So I hoped you liked this post. In my opinion, fashion is all about experimenting and finding a balance. Do experiment with different styles or buy an item that's kind of edgy but you really like. Find your own style and just own it!
Good luck and talk to you later!

Bright Blue

Hello everybody!
How have you all been? This has been a long time, but I am really happy to be back with more things to share.
The weather is finally starting to get better in Belgium, so it is time again for shorts, skirts and dresses.

Starting off with a skort with a pretty design. I love how in the outfit the blue, black, white and brown just go together. They are just some fun spring colours.

I still think skorts are extremely easy to wear, you don't have to worry about how to sit or walk or run. I like the asymmetrical design a lot as well.

I don't know about you guys, but I like having my days without makeup. Actually, I  never really wear a lot of makeup. Most of the times, I just use some mascara, eyeliner and lipstick, that's it.

Thank you for reading!
Talk to you later!
